A world of streaming delights sees a number of new original titles arriving on Netflix this month viewers can look forward to.
June 2023 brings with it an array of highly-anticipated shows and movies to indulge in. Here’s a look at some new content arriving on the streaming platform.
BLACK MIRROR (SEASON 6)
Four years have passed since the arrival of the fifth season of Black Mirror on Netflix, and there has been considerable uncertainty about the show’s future. However, fans can now rejoice as it has been confirmed that there are at least five new episodes in the works, although a specific release date is still pending, further information is expected to be revealed shortly.
MANIFEST (SEASON 4 – PART 2)
Slated for release tomorrow, the show will be airing all 10 of the final episodes on Netflix. After a five-year absence, a commercial airliner mysteriously resurfaces.
As the passengers and crew reintegrate into society, they begin to hear guiding voices and witness visions of future events, unravelling a profound enigma.
TOUR DE FRANCE: UNCHAINED (SEASON 1)
Coming in on June 7 is this show in the realm of professional cycling. The Tour de France stands as one of the most significant events on the calendar.
To create an exhilarating new docuseries, Box to Box Films, the producer of F1 Drive to Survive, has partnered with the organisers of the Tour de France.
The world’s top professional cyclists engage in fierce competition, vying for the prestigious yellow jersey. Excitingly, fans of the sport will now have the chance to witness the unfolding drama of last year’s event.
Providing exclusive access to eight out of the 22 teams participating in the event, fans will gain enhanced insights into one of the year’s most iconic sporting spectacles. With each episode estimated to run for 45 minutes, it is highly probable that the series will dedicate individual episodes to each of the eight teams, considering the matching numbers.
NEVER HAVE I EVER (SEASON 4)
Making its return to the screen for its fourth and final season on June 8 is Mindy Kaling’s Never Have I Ever, which has been one of the most successful comedy series on Netflix.
The coming-of-age comedy series loosely based on the experiences that Kaling had in her own youth has amassed a staggering accumulation of 338 million hours of watch time worldwide.
As Devi, Ben, and Paxton venture into their final year of high school, the love triangle between them persists.
Devi finds herself faced with a multitude of decisions that require careful consideration.
These include choosing between the two boys she has feelings for, determining the path of her education, and navigating her relationships with her family and friends.
HUMAN RESOURCES (SEASON 2)
Also coming to an end in its second season is Human Resources, which will air on June 9 on Netflix. A spin-off of another popular Netflix series Big Mouth, Human Resources is an uproarious journey through the adolescent psyche and this second season sees the majority of the show’s original cast return, accompanied by a line-up of captivating celebrity guest stars.
OUR PLANET 2
The initial season of Our Planet was truly breath-taking and filled viewers with wonder, making it one of the most remarkable nature docuseries ever created.
With the highly anticipated second season on the horizon, the captivating offerings that Silverback Films has prepared for June 14 are eagerly anticipated.
EXTRACTION 2
Returning to the role of Tyler Rake, Chris Hemsworth is set to once again don the suit and boots, three years after the initial release.
Extraction 2 will be airing on June 19, and this time around, Rake finds himself in a precarious situation as he embarks on a perilous mission to rescue the traumatised family of a merciless Georgian gangster from their prison confinement.
Joining Hemsworth in the sequel are a talented cast that includes Golshifteh Farahani, Adam Bessa, Daniel Bernhardt, and Tinatin Dalakishvili.
TAKE CARE OF MAYA
Also airing on June 19 is Take Care of Maya, another compelling Netflix documentary that has the potential to take flight as it delves into the circumstances that resulted in the state separating Maya Kowalski from her parents, and explores their relentless endeavour to reunite with their beloved child.
THE PERFECT FINE
Out on the streaming platform on June 23, The Perfect Fine is a captivating romance film adaptation of Tia Williams’ novel.
The film is helmed by director Numa Perrier, while the cast is led by acclaimed actors Gabrielle Union, Keith Powers, and Aisha Hinds. Amidst a high-stakes career, a ticking biological clock, and financial considerations, a woman in her 40s faces a pivotal choice.

A BEAUTIFUL LIFE
Danish romance movie A Beautiful Life was released yesterday, starring popular Danish singer Christopher, in his first-ever leading role and directed by Mehdi Avaz.
Elliott, a talented young fisherman with an exceptional voice, finds himself presented with a life-changing opportunity when he catches the attention of Suzanne, a renowned and influential music manager.
Suzanne, who happens to be estranged from her daughter Lilly, decides to bring them together, pairing Elliott with Lilly, who works as a music producer.
As Elliott embarks on his journey towards stardom, past hardships resurface, posing challenges that not only jeopardise his breakthrough but also put his budding romance with Lilly at risk.
THE DAYS (LIMITED SERIES)
A Japanese series release yesterday, The Days aspires to achieve the same level of success as HBO’s Chernobyl, and the new series title aims to captivate audiences.
This gripping eight-part series, featuring acclaimed actor Koji Yakusho, delves into the events of the seven intense days that unfolded during the catastrophic Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant disaster in 2011.
BARRACUDA QUEENS (SEASON 1)
June 8 will see the arrival of Swedish heist crime drama, Barracuda Queens, which is loosely based on a true story.
In this six-episode series, viewers will be immersed in the journey of a cohort of young women in the 90s played by Alva Bratt, Tindra Monsen, Sandra Zubovi and Sarah Gustafsson.
Together, they embark on a path of rebellion, seeking thrills, and enacting revenge upon men who have wronged them, all through a series of burglaries.
BLOODHOUNDS (SEASON 1)
Woo Do-hwan, Lee Sang-yi and Huh Joon-ho star in this up-and-coming Korean crime series created by Jason Kim.
To settle their debts, the three audacious individuals venture into the world of money-lending, bravely confronting the wealthy and influential who exploit the vulnerable.
