Micronet International College (MIC) welcomed new students for its October 2019 intake with a litany of fun-filled activities and mouth-watering feast at Kampong Parit Recreational Park recently, according to a press release.
Facilitated by the college’s student council members, the activities were also participated by current students, lecturers and staff in welcoming the new intake.
Activities included kite flying, face painting, playing bubbles, frisbee and treasure hunting. One of the highlights was the MIC Masterchef Season 2, where students showcased their creative culinary skills and expertise.
The event also saw the presentation of prizes and merit awards to students who excelled in the preceding semester. It ended with live cooking and buffet accompanied by performances by MIC’s Music club.
The release said that MIC puts importance in the orientation day, hoping that such activities will boost the students’ confidence to face and overcome the challenges in the college during the school year while keeping an eye towards success.
A separate session was held early in October at the MIC Jerudong Campus where the college conducted a briefing for new students with their parents and guardians.
The briefing covered topics on the college’s rules and regulations policies, information technology courses, Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA), Pearson BTEC UK, NCC Education United Kingdom (UK) academic assessments and student timetables.
The briefing ended with a question and answer session followed by tea.
