New logistics facility launched

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express services provider officially launched its new facility, which houses its Service Centre and country office yesterday as part of its long-term investment plan in the country.

With an investment of BND1.76 million, the new facility aims to support the Brunei Vision 2035 by contributing to the development of shipping and logistics.

Centrally located to enhance accessibility and convenience, the 1,177sqm facility will be a key touch point for over 600 local customers shipping internationally.

Managed by over 400 employees, the facility is equipped with a full drive-in facility, enabling quicker loading and unloading of shipments from DHL vehicles without exposure to weather elements, helping customers receive their shipments quicker and in the best condition.

Managing Director of DHL Express Malaysia and Brunei Christopher Ong said the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have great potential in contributing to Brunei’s economy.

“The new DHL Express Brunei facility marked its commitment to boost the competitiveness of local SMEs in the international marketplace by helping them to reach out to a wider audience through the DHL Express global network.

“As an international trade facilitator, we will continue to educate local SMEs on the latest industry tips and insights from DHL Express and our partners on opportunities beyond the local market,” he added.
