The Ministry of Health (MoH) and departments under it marked the Islamic new year of 1444 Hijrah with a ceremony at the ministry’s Al-’Afiah Hall.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar was the guest of honour.
The religious ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Surah Al-Israa by Head of Religious Teacher of Religious Service Unit at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Haji Nor Asilin bin Haji Puting.
A religious talk titled ‘Hijrah Mencapai Misi dan Visi Hidup’ was delivered by Assistant Prisons Counsellor Fariszal bin Ali.
The ceremony included Dikir Marhaban to welcome returning Haj pilgrims comprising 20 medical officers and nurses as well as 20 personnel.
The medical team this year was led by RIPAS Medical Superintendent Dr Haji Muhd Nurhassanuddin bin Abdullah. The ceremony was coordinated by the Department of Laboratory Services and the Department of Renal Services.
Meanwhile, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) celebrated with a forum and presentation of community service awards at the UNISSA Auditorium yesterday.
The forum titled ‘Bersabar, Berikhtiar, Bertawakkal dan Berdoa Menghadapi Ujian; Memacu Wawasan Negara’ was facilitated by students Abdul Shafiq bin Roszani from the Faculty of Arabic Language, Muhammad Haziq bin Haji Ahad from the Faculty of Shariah and Law and moderated by Muhammad Faris Amsyar bin Ismail from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Finance. The forum discussed strategic planing, patience and prayers in overcoming challenges.
The celebration concluded with the presentation of the University’s Community Service Award 2021-2022 by guest of honour UNISSA Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal.
The three projects awarded were ‘Sedekah Week 2.0: Ukhwah for Ummah’, the ‘Collect Against the Clock and the Pick’, ‘Clean and Win Challenge’. Some 11 projects were nominated for the award.
