New door opens to businesses, residents

The Perusahaan Arah Maha Samasa (AMAS) launched the opening of the AMAS Lamunin building at Lot 1766, KM1 Jalan Lamunin, Tutong on Friday.

Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong officiated the opening ceremony.

The AMAS Lamunin is a five-storey commercial building with 12 shop units, 16 apartments and a hall with a capacity of 800 people.

The building is also equipped with a prayer hall and underground parking. The building was completed in October 2020.

The opening ceremony commenced with the ribbon cutting by the minister and owner of AMAS building.

It was followed with a welcoming address by organising committee chairman Haji Awang Badar bin Haji Awang Ali. Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali then signed the official plaque before witnessing a video presentation on the construction of AMAS building.

The minister toured the shop unit and apartment areas as well as exhibition booths which sold Kampong Lamunin products.

Twenty-five people divided into six categories – MPK Lamunin, MPK Layong and the Brunei Darussalam Photography Association, MPK Panchong, MPH Birau, Pengkalan Waris, Lamin Kampung, Eco Ponies Garden and Lamin Warisan are participating in the exhibition. The booths are open until 9pm today.

The building hopes to serve as a platform to provide business opportunities to companies as well as offer employment for youth while providing facilities for residents to conduct their business activities, accommodations, and social activities.
