New converts complete guidance course

Eleven new male converts completed the 14-day Advance Guidance Course II, and to commemorate the occasion a closing ceremony was held at the Belait District Branch of the Islamic Da’wah Centre yesterday.

Acting Village Head of Kampong Bukit Sawat and Acting Village Head of RPN Kampong Lorong Tengah Seria Mohammad bin Abdullah attended the event as the guest of honour. He was welcomed by Head of the Dakwah Unit in Belait District Zikrinaidah binti Haji Mat Dikir.

Following the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, the guest of honour congratulated the new converts and encouraged them to continue seeking opportunities to expand their knowledge on the Islamic faith.

Meanwhile, representative of the new converts Al Ansar Adzin bin Abdul Halim Wong said the course ran from August 3 to 6, 2021 but was put on hiatus due to the second COVID-19 wave in the Sultanate. He expressed joy over the resumption of the course on January 8-17, concluding the 14-day course.

The guest of honour presented certificates to the converts. The top three participants in the final examination received commemorative plaques and gifts. The best performing participants were Muhd Hafizuddin bin Muhd Johara in first place with a score of 90 per cent, followed by Azharuddin bin Muhd Nasiruddin with 86 per cent and Al Ansar Adzin with 84 per cent.

The Belait District Branch of the Islamic Da’wah Centre recorded 68 individuals embracing the Islamic faith between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021.
