A foreign citizen, originally employed as a construction labourer, was ordered to report to the Immigration Enforcement Section of the Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) in Kuala Belait for further investigation and action after being found to have violated Section 15 (2) Chapter 17 of the Immigration Act and Regulations.

The violation was discovered recently during a routine inspection dubbed Ops Langis JIPK 0/2021 at a grocery shop in Kampong Lumut, involving four immigration enforcement personnel.

The employer and owner of the grocery shop was also issued a letter, requiring him to be present for further questioning at the Enforcement Section headquarters.

The following day, five personnel from the Enforcement Section of INRD in Bandar Seri Begawan carried out an Ops Langis 41 inspection at a fruit and vegetable stall in Kampong Madewa.

The team questioned the two foreign women working at the stall. One was detained under Section 55 (1)(a)(b)(c) after she failed to show a valid identification document to the officers.

She was then brought to the Enforcement Section headquarters for further investigation and action, under Chapter 17 of the Immigration Regulation and Act.
