A total of 31 new members of the Neighbourhood Watch received membership appointment letters in a ceremony held by the Muara Police Station, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) on Friday.
Officer-in-Charge of the Muara Police Station Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Hajah Nur Azhani binti Haji Johaini presented the appointment letters to 21 members from RPN Kampong Tanah Jambu, led by Acting Village Head Haji Abdul Wahab bin Haji Kassim, and 10 members from STKRJ Kampong Sungai Buloh, led by Village Head Hamidun bin Mohd Daud.
RBPF Public Relations Officer ASP Normazlina binti Emran and Neighbourhood Watch Secretariat delivered a briefing on the Neighbourhood Watch pertaining to its objectives, aims and history.
The addition of new members is hoped to show a positive impact in attracting villagers to participate in jointly maintaining the safety and welfare of the village as well as re-establishing the Neighbourhood Watch in their villages.
The cooperation between the RBPF and Neighbourhood Watch members will spur an increase in the distribution of information, casual activities and monitoring of criminal activities.
