THE Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) organised a religious ceremony to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at the Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Malik Mosque in Kampong Tungku, Gadong yesterday.

Acting Director of NCB Haji Mohd Jaffari bin Haji Mahadi attended the religious event.

Officers and staff of NCB performed Sunnat Hajat prayer and recited Surah Yaasiin and Doa Selamat.

According to NCB, June 26 has been declared by the United Nations (UN) as International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking since 1987.

This year’s theme ‘Listen First’, is an initiative to enhance support in the prevention of drug abuse through science, thus becoming an effective investment for the harmony of children, the youth, families and the community.
