Nationhood talks raise patriotic spirit

SOME 353 students of Year 7 from the Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College (MSPSBS) attended a talk on ‘Our King, Appreciating Our National Flag and National Anthem’ by the Nationhood and Community Division of the Information Department, Prime Minister’s Office, yesterday.

The talk was delivered by Assistant Information Officer Mohammad Nurakram bin Noraini @ Bahrin.

The programme was part of the department’s continuous efforts to instil the spirit of love towards the monarch, nation and religion, as well as to strengthen the spirit of solidarity, patriotism and nationhood in students through the national anthem and national flag.

The students also watched a video clip presentation on Kibarkanlah Dengan Megah Bendera Negara, Semarak Pengibaran Bendera and animation video procedures on the hoisting of the national flag.

The event saw students’ participation in quizzes and concluded with a prize presentation.

Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Secondary School

ONE-hundred-and-seventy-nine Year 7 students from Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Secondary School (SMPDSM) in Mentiri attended a nationhood briefing programme by the Information Department through its Nationhood Unit, Nationhood and Community Division at the school’s hall recently.

Head of the Nationhood Unit Hajah Hamsah binti Datu Kerna Haji Jaya conducted the briefing.

Participants were briefed on the history of the Brunei monarchy, the procedures in hoisting the national flag as well as the history of the national anthem.

Videos titled Kibarkanlah Dengan Megah Bendera NegaraSemarak Pengibaran Bendera Negara and Tatacara Menaikkan Bendera Negara were showcased. Students also participated in a quiz and received goodie bags.
