The Nationhood Unit of the Strategic Communications Division of the Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office held a nationalism briefing programme on ‘Our King, Appreciating the National Flag and National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam’ for Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School, Tutong.
The programme is one of the ongoing efforts of the department in sowing love for the monarch, religion, race and country.
It is also hoped that it will be able to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and patriotism among students.
Some 87 Year 7 students attended the briefing.
Also present was Deputy Principal of Administration Haji Masri bin Haji Md Daud and the teaching staff of the school.
The national briefing was delivered by Head of Nationhood Unit Hajah Noorihijrah binti Haji Idris, who touched on His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the procedure for hoisting the national flag which is to ensure that the national flag is in perfect condition and clean, and the history of the national anthem.
The students also watched an animated video on the procedure to hoist the national flag. The briefing ended with the presentation of prizes to students who successfully answered the national quiz conducted by the department.
