The National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) has re-branded into the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD), the national governing body of football
The move was made to reflect the association’s vision of delivering fresh and more robust developments, making the sport more sustainable.
The re-branding was also made to mirror the association’s growth and expansion within the last decade, since its establishment in 2011.
The association has outlined plans to make football one of the viable sports that are aligned with national development initiatives by 2035.
A new logo has also been made to accompany the name change, which was designed by Maha’adi Mohd Aiani and Pengiran Hisyamuddin bin Pengiran Seri Jaya – the joint winners for the ‘NFABD Rebrand Competition’ last year.
The new logo is a combination of a three-layered crescent moon representing the lunar stages culminating into a full moon, which is represented by the Green Football covered with Honeycomb motifs.
The ‘ripe-lemon’ coloured crescent contains a Jawi inscription of the association’s name in Malay while the Black crescent has the association name in English written in Roman letters.
The green-coloured football decorated with honeycomb pattern is the culmination of what the association aspires to achieve, which is to build and achieve the full potential of football as a sustainable sport in the country.
The honeycomb motif drew inspiration from the national team’s signature name ‘Wasps’.
