National flag raised at school

A flag raising ceremony was held at the Sungai Tali Primary School in Lumut to mark the upcoming 37th National Day to instill a sense of patriotism among students.

Organised by the Village Consultative Council (MPK) of the RPN Lumut, the ceremony was accompanied by the singing of the national anthem as well as Silat performances by Pertubuhan Seni Warisan Pelangi (PSWP).

The flag itself was raised by members of the school’s scout troop.

Acting Village Head of RPN Lumut Haji Pengiran Ahmad bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud highlighted on the importance of such an occasion as it helps to further instil a sense of patriotism among students in appreciating the National Day which also helps to inspire them to achieve Brunei Vision 2035.

He also hoped that the continued collaboration not only between MPK of RPN Lumut and the school, but also other groups in the community; which will serve to boost growth of the village in support of the national vision.

Also attending the event was chairman of the ceremony Azman bin Duraman, and Assistant Principal of Administration of the school Hajah Suyanna binti Haji Mahmud.
