The four-day semifinals of the National Al-Quran Reading Competition for adults for 1444 Hijrah began yesterday at International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas.
The competition is organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) through the Islamic Eminence Division.
A total of 54 participants, comprising 41 male and 13 female, are battling out for a spot in the finals.
The announcement of results and presentation of prizes and souvenirs to the contestants and judges will be held on Thursday at the same venue.
