A TOTAL of 323 students of Dato Basir Primary School at Lambak Kanan attended the National Day celebration ceremony at the multipurpose hall of the school yesterday. The event also saw the closing of the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) and Social Studies Month.
Headmistress Hajah Sarinah binti Haji Ahmad and Assistant Headmistress Saliha binti Haji Tinggal were also present.
The ceremony saw a march-past by students, followed by the National Day oath and recitation of Doa Hari Kebangsaan by Ustaz Kassim bin Bujang.
A briefing on nationalism delivered by Nationhood and Community Division official Mohd Arif bin Metali from the Information Department, sports competition and National Day quizzes were also held.
Among the objectives of the ceremony were to instill love towards the country among students, instil the spirit of patriotism and nationalism, and celebrate the 35th National Day of Brunei Darussalam.
