Municipal department removes 10 abandoned vehicles

Ten abandoned vehicles were removed by the Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Municipal Department during Operasi Bersepadu Bersih recently for the violation of Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment) 2021.

The vehicles were found in parking areas and road shoulders around Jalan Residency in Mukim Kianggeh and Kampong Batu Bersurat in Mukim Gadong, according to the municipal department.

Two vehicles were relocated to a landfill site while eight were removed by their owners after mediation.

The municipal department reminded the public that under Section 12(1)(f), Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Offences Act (Amendment) 2021, individuals will be levied a fine of BND1,000 and BND2,000 for bodies or company for each abandoned vehicle in public areas.
