Munajat Ramadhan to reap rewards of holy month

The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) continues to hold the Munajat event online, allowing participants to reap the rewards and improve religious practices in the blessed month of Ramadhan.

To mark the holy month, the Munajat Ramadhan will be held after Asar prayer every Saturday. It invites the public to collectively seek forgiveness from Allah the Almighty through Istighfar, recite Surah Yaasiin, listen to recitations of verses of Al-Quran and appreciate its meaning, and recite prayers simultaneously en masse, in the hopes of being spared from disasters and protected against COVID-19.

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud and Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof participated.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs personnel as well as ambassadors and heads of representatives of Brunei Darussalam overseas missions joined the online session.

Additionally, 75 mosques, suraus and religious halls throughout the country followed the session.

The event began with the recitation of Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, and continued with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin led by Kampong Sungai Hanching Mosque Affairs Officer Haji Abdul Malik bin Haji Jumat.

Deputy Permanent Secretary at the MoRA cum Islamic Religious Council member Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang led the recitation of Doa Munajat.

The event continued with the recitation of verses of Al-Quran (verse 185 of Surah Al-Baqarah) by Haji Abdul Malik.

The meaning behind the verse was shared through the Tadabbur, presented by Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAHS) Religious Officer Pengiran Haji Mohd Norhadi bin Pengiran Haji Bongsu.

The event concluded with the recitation of Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam by Mosque Affairs Officer cum Monitoring Officer for Zone II Brunei-Muara Haji Mohd Azrol Alim bin Haji Zaini, conducted virtually from the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Mosque.
