Mumtaz Veteran football team secured third place in the Irau Tupeh Padey tournament, organised by Lun Bawang Murut Brunei Association, at the Batu Apoi Sports Complex on Friday. The Mumtaz team shared the third-place spot with TJ Veteran football team after a narrow defeat in the semi-finals. The match against host team Permata Hijau ended in a 4-3 penalty shootout loss. In the tournament’s final showdown, Permata Hijau emerged champions, edging out Persatuan Sang Jati Dusun in another penalty shootout, with a 3-2 victory.
Acting Temburong District Officer Hassan Baha bin Haji Umar, presented the prizes.
