The Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) handed over tithe money to victims of house fires at the Ministry of Religious Affairs building.
Acting Secretary of MUIB Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Akop presented BND1,800 and school equipment to Haji Manan bin Haji Yusof’s family and Azmin bin Haji Yusof’s family whose house was destroyed in the September 30 fire.
The victims are staying temporarily at a relative’s house in the same village. MUIB hoped that such donations will ease their burden.
Meanwhile, a similar event was also held at the Belait District Office’s Religious Hall.
Head of Religious Officer in the Belait District Mohamad Aliyani bin Ismail handed over BND2,000 to Khatijah binti Ghani, Anwaruddin Chong bin Abdullah @ Chong Ah Tee, Maimunah binti Ghani, Sofian bin Ghani and Zaeni.
