Personnel from the Belait District Religious Affairs Office handed over donations to 49 less fortunate new converts yesterday as part of their Al-ihtimam Ma’an (Together we care) programme.
Four teams from the agency handed out donations of food necessities to the recipients’ residences in Kampong Sungai Teraban, Mukim Belait, Mukim Seria and Mukim Liang.
The agency’s Head of Religious Officer Mohammad Aliyani bin Ismail led the programme.
The initiative is an annual activity of the agency to reach out and support the less fortunate new converts, especially with the holy month of Ramadhan just around the corner. – Daniel Lim
