Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) inked four memoranda of understanding (MoUs) following the presentation of Medals and Book Prizes ceremony yesterday, as part of the university’s efforts to take steps in achieving excellence in academics and research while making a significant contribution to the society locally and internationally.

Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, as the Chairperson of UNISSA’s Council, witnessed the MoU signing.

UNISSA Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal signed on behalf of the university.

UNISSA signed MoUs with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia; Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP), Indonesia; Jami’ah al-Quran al-Karem wal’ulum al-Islmiyah Yemen; and Mitsubishi Corporation.

The signing was in line with UNISSA’s efforts to develop strategic networks with foreign institutions and enhance the university’s reputation in the field of Islamic studies, research, entrepreneurship and management while strengthening its position in the global education arena.

This year, UNISSA was honoured with the signing of an MoU with Mitsubishi Corporation that will provide scholarships to five outstanding UNISSA undergraduates.

The BND10,000 scholarship will be awarded to the students to cover the fees.
