Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and Shenzhen New Industries Biomedical Engineering Co Ltd (Snibe) formalised a strategic partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote collaboration in student and staff mobility, research, and specialised training.
UBD Vice-Chancellor Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle and Snibe’s Chairman and General Manager Dr Rao Wei officiated the MoU signing ceremony held on January 20 at Snibe’s headquarters in Shenzhen, China. The partnership is poised to strengthen ties between academia and industry in the biomedical sector.
Dr Hazri emphasised the significance of the collaboration in driving impactful research and expanding global opportunities for UBD students and the staff.
Key initiatives under the MoU include exchange programmes and internships for students and staff, the development of joint research projects focused on biomedical innovation, and the creation of specialised training programmes in advanced biomedical diagnostics.
Snibe has been dedicated to the field of clinical laboratory instruments and in vitro diagnostics for 30 years, contributing its expertise and innovation to the advancement of human health. It is also the first chemiluminescence immunoassay manufacturer in China to receive FDA clearance.
The alliance underscores UBD’s commitment to fostering global partnerships and Snibe’s dedication to advancing biomedical technology.
Both institutions aim to cultivate a dynamic synergy that bridges the academic and industrial realms, contributing to innovation and societal well-being.
