MoU signed to boost learning cooperation

Kolej International Graduate Studies (KIGS) has been given the status of ‘Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Approved Centre’ last year and had also been given approval to run five IBTE programmes in the same year.

The programmes are NTec in Business Administration, NTec in Information Technology (IT), HNTec in Business and Finance, HNTec in Computer Networking and HNTec in IT while a new programme – the HNTec in Construction and Draughting (Dual TVET) – will be offered this October.

These were shared by KIGS CEO Dr Haji Azaharaini bin Haji Mohd Jamil in his welcoming remarks at signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the college and the industries yesterday.

Witnessing the signing of the MoU was Deputy Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Dr Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah.

The HNTec in Construction and Draughting (Dual TVET) programme is under the Ministry of Education’s TVET scheme and the delivery of this programme will in collaboration with two companies – Arash Design Construction and Zimra Sdn Bhd and Juru Ukur Perunding Services Sdn Bhd.

Meanwhile, the signing for Juru Ukur Perunding was its director, Pengiran Haji Matusin bin Pengiran Haji Matasan and witnessed by Pengiran Hajah Hasnawati binti Pengiran Setia Jaya Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin, while Arash Design was signed by CEO Pengiran Haji Radno bin Pengiran Haji Md Tahir and witnessed by Dayangku Hajah Kartewi binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman.

KIGS was represented by Dr Haji Azaharaini and witnessed by Pengiran Haji Mohd Yamin bin Pengiran Setia Jaya Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin.

The MoU covers cooperation in the access of resources of the companies, collaboration in research and development, collaboration in capacity building, supervised work attachment programmes for the students, and information and knowledge exchanges.
