MoU paves road for Halal products cooperation

THE Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Ghanim International Corporation Sdn Bhd and Taj Food Industries Limited, a subsidiary of Nizam Group of Companies from Bangladesh, will open up significant opportunities for business growth for both parties.

CEO of Ghanim International Corporation Dr Nur Rahman highlighted this following the signing of the MoU on April 22 at the Indera Kayangan Ballroom of the Empire Hotel & Country Club.

The MoU was signed during the Brunei Darussalam – Bangladesh Business Forum in the presence of Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina.

The MoU inks a strategic partnership to establish a basis of cooperation to explore the collaboration and establishment of facilities in the Halal consumable industry which includes, but is not limited to, Halal food, Halal pharmaceuticals, Halal cosmetics and Halal aquaculture.

“We are pleased to step into an exciting new venture with Taj Food Industries from Bangladesh which will open various opportunities for Ghanim International Corporation to reach out to new markets by tapping into their network and utilising their diverse business experiences across the food industry, pharmaceutical, logistics and infrastructure,” said Dr Nur Rahman.

“As Bangladesh is expected to be the third fastest growing economy in the world in 2019, we wish to leverage on this huge market opportunity to introduce bruneihalalfoods products including packaged foods and seafood products and also utilise this channel to establish our footing in Halal pharmaceuticals under the bruneihalalpharma brand.

“We are confident this collaboration will open significant opportunities for business growth for both parties,” he affirmed.

“We acknowledge the support of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism in increasing processing and trading of Halal aquatic products for bruneihalalfoods,” added the CEO.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Acting Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin and President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries Md Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin.

Dr Nur Rahman signed the MoU on behalf of Ghanim International Corporation, while signing on behalf of Taj Food Industries was its Managing Director Md Nizam Uddin.

Present at the MoU signing ceremony as witness signatories were Director of Ghanim International Corporation Junaidi bin Haji Masri and Director of the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries Priti Chakrabarti.
