Recently, I had to send off my sister and her husband for a trip to Kuala Lumpur via Miri.
After completing the online application for the vehicle Exit and Entry System (EES), a friend agreed to accompany me during the return trip to Miri and I filled in the EES application form again to add her as another passenger.
On the day before the trip, my mother managed to get a day off from work and decided to come along as she had a few items to buy in Miri. However, I was frustrated that I was not able to add her as an additional passenger when a notification popped up on the screen read ‘Only one time edit available. You can not edit second time’.
With the start of the school holidays, I am sure that many are planning to travel across the border for a quick getaway. It would be disappointing to not be able to make last minute additions for an unscheduled trip.
I was made to understand that the EES facilitates and expedites the application and approval process for vehicles exiting or entering the border checkpoint.
I wish the EES can be improved and made more convenient for border hoppers.
Maybe a helpline like the Darussalam Line 123 can offer some form of assistance to those with queries about EES.
