It is good to see more and more people in the country adopting a healthy lifestyle.
It is the most noticeable at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas, where you can see countless joggers, brisk walkers and cyclists.
A popular route for joggers is starting at the car park and jog along the road around the stadium before turning left at Jalan Perdana Menteri.
Once they reach the roundabout, they would make a left turn and traverse Jalan Menteri Besar before turning left again at Jalan Kebangsaan. Then at the traffic lights, they would turn left along Islamic Da’wah Centre and be back on the stadium road again.
For regular joggers, the grievance is the lack of adequate lighting along the route, especially on Jalan Menteri Besar.
As such, I urge the authorities to consider installing more streetlights to ensure public safety.
