    More houses for the masses

    In an effort to continue providing houses under the National Housing Scheme (RPN), new projects will continue to be carried out in the 2024-2025 financial year.

    Minister of Development Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid said this in delivering his ministry’s budget for the 2024-2025 financial year in the 20th session of the Legislative Council meeting yesterday.

    In addition, 2,674 Temporary Occupation License (TOL) land grants have been awarded to eligible applicants.

    Through the 11th National Development Plan, two projects are currently underway: the construction of 1,000 terraced houses at the Kampong Lugu National Housing Project, expected to be completed by month-end; and the construction of 950 terraced houses at the Kampong Tanah Jambu National Housing Project, expected to be completed by January 2025.

    Meanwhile, for the 12th National Development Plan, the Housing Development Department has plans for projects, with an allocation of BND41,555,200 with initial works implemented in Kampong Salambigar, Kampong Tanah Jambu, Kampong Katok, Kampong Lumut and Kampong Rataie.

    In addition, earthworks are being carried out in Kampong Katok and Kampong Rataie, as well as housing construction in Kampong Lugu, Kampong Lumut, Kampong Rimba and Kampong Salambigar, which will see the construction of more than 1,600 new houses. – Azlan Othman
