Three officers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) left for Jordan and Oman on Friday for working visits to strengthen ties and support the existing initiative.
The delegation is also set to establish international cooperation with language institutions in Jordan and Oman, especially in the Arabic language.
The delegation comprised two officers from the Arabic Language Empowerment Programme of Arabic Schools Unit, Dr Hajah Norasimah binti Haji Latip as the head of delegation and Siti Norhafizah binti Haji Salleh, and Islamic Studies Department officer cum Head of the Arabic Schools Division Pengiran Mohamad Aminuddin bin Pengiran Haji Hussin. They will be in Jordan until tomorrow before continuing their journey to Oman until June 18.
While in Jordan, the delegation will visit four education institutions: Arabic Language Centre; Ali Baba International Centre; Ahlan World Jordan; and Qasid Arabic Institute.
Meanwhile in Oman, they will hold dialogues with Oman’s Ministry of Education and visit tertiary Arabic language institutions and learning centres – Sultan Qaboos University; Sultan Qaboos College for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers; DHAD Institute for Teaching Arabic to Speakers of Other Languages; University of Nizwa, Sohar University; and Noor Majan Arabic Institute (NMAI).
The delegation will return to the Sultanate on June 19.
