MoRA officers in Kuala Lumpur for conference

Two officers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) Director Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh and Special Duties Officer (Grade II) at the Religious Understanding and Counselling Unit Muhammad Yussof bin Abdul Majid, are in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the National Propagation Conference on ‘Challenges and Role of Islamic NGOs’ at Federal Territory Mosque.

Head of International and MABIMS Unit, Public Relations, International and MABIMS Division Pengiran Muhammad Azrin bin Pengiran Jarail was at the Brunei International Airport to bid farewell to the officers on Wednesday.

Organised by the Islamic Welfare Organization of Malaysia (PERKIM), the conference is an effort to find solutions to challenges, issues and problems faced by Muslims, especially Islamophobia, the spread of Islamic pamphlets and poverty through forum platforms, lectures and talks by prominent Muslim figures.

At the end of the conference, a strategic framework and strategic cooperation among Islamic NGOs will be formulated.

The conference is a collaboration between the National PERKIM together with the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP), the Regional Islamic Da’wah Council of Southeast Asia and the Pacific (RISEAP) and three higher education institutions including Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Kolej Profesional Baitulmal Kuala Lumpur (KPBKL) and Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College (KLMUC).

The MoRA representatives are participating in the meeting as observers.
