The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has announced that it is currently carrying out repairs on defective drain covers at the Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas in Bandar Seri Begawan, in addition to making improvements for public safety.
The announcement comes in the wake of viral photos showing several park visitors being injured by damaged drain covers as well as a letter published in the Borneo Bulletin on October 9, 2019, under the heading, ‘Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas needs maintenance’.
MoHA in its statement said, “The ministry advises the public to exercise extra caution in areas of the park that are undergoing maintenance and restoration work.
“Public feedback is welcome and appreciated in assisting the ministry to take appropriate steps in improving the quality of public services. This is in accordance with the Ministry of Home Affairs’ mission of ‘Working Together With the Community for Peace and Security’.”
