Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar received 240 universal protective kits (UPKs) from Baiduri Bank Group, in a ceremony held yesterday at the Ministry of Health (MoH) building.

The UPKs to assist medical frontliners coping with the COVID-19 outbreak were presented by Deputy CEO of Baiduri Bank Pengiran Azaleen bin Pengiran Dato Haji Mustapha.

The donated items include face and eye masks, long-sleeved protective aprons, skin wipes and gloves.

Pengiran Azaleen said the use of personal protective equipment (PPEs) is essential to healthcare workers, since they face the risk of infection in the course of their duty.

“We hope that our contribution UPKs will help to keep them safe and allow them to continue their invaluable service in treating COVID-19 patients round the clock,” he said, adding that it is part of Baiduri Bank Group’s comprehensive approach in helping the country during
the outbreak.

Previously, Baiduri Bank Group donated 200 sets of a week’s supply of groceries to the medical frontliners at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Sports Complex on March 25, and the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital on April 1.

“We understand that they may not have the time to do their grocery shopping, given their demanding schedule, and these donations are our gesture of appreciation to the medical frontliners for their dedication and commitment, especially during this difficult period,” said Pengiran Azaleen.

Head of Group Treasury and Institutional Banking Awangku Nor Muhd Nizam bin Pengiran Haji Tengah, and Senior Communications Officer Muiz bin Dato Paduka Haji Adnan were also present during the handover ceremony.
