The viral message on social media of a new local positive COVID-19 case detected in Brunei Darussalam and was transported to Tutong is fake, the Ministry of Health stated yesterday.

The ministry urged the public not to spread unverified and fake information.

It also said under Chapter 148 of the Public Order Act that circulating fake and unverified information in public is an offence.

The offender can be fined BND3,000 or face a three-year jail term.
