MoH debunks viral message

James Kon

The Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday debunked a baseless message that listed the number of COVID-19 cases in the country from June 1-24 that went viral on social media.

The ministry warned the public that the Public Order Act, Chapter 148, Section 34, states that anyone spreading false reports or making false statements, whether orally or in writing or by any other means, likely to cause public alarm or result in public disorder, can be found guilty of an offence punishable by a prison term of three years or a fine of up to BND3,000.
