MoE: We prioritise school community’s well-being

The Ministry of Education (MoE) would like to refer to Frustrated Teacher’s letter, ‘Call for more teaching, less testing’ and Eagle-Eyed Mum’s letter, ‘What is regular testing on students for?’, published on the Opinion page of the Bulletin on December 17, 2022 and December 24, 2022 respectively.

The MoE places high priority on the well-being of the school community, especially our teachers and students. The ministry continues to support our teaching forces in providing quality education to our learners.

Apart from quality pedagogy and curriculum, assessment is one of the critical components in teaching and learning processes in any quality education system. The MoE is in the process of reviewing the current assessment framework towards a more structured conceptual map of learning outcomes.

In the interest of addressing the writers’ concerns better, the ministry invited them to anonymously provide further details on the types of testing concerned via email to feedback@moe.gov.bn.
