Some 89 officers and staff at the Ministry of Education (MoE) and its departments and education institutions attended a briefing on the understanding of Maqasid Syariah in management and administration.
An effort by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) in raising awareness and understanding on the principle of Maqasid Syariah, the event took place at the lecture hall of the School of Aviation, Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus.
Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) lecturers Haji Md Syahiran bin Haji Md Sofian, Waiduri binti Haji Md Ali and Aisyah Radhiah binti Gani facilitated the briefing.
With the aim to provide understanding and awareness on the importance of Maqasid Syariah in the administration of an organisation, the event was one of the briefings and workshop series conducted by the Muraqib Unit at the MoRA under the ‘Strengthening of Maqasid Syariah in the management of administration of Brunei Darussalam’ project.
The project also serves as one of MoRA’s strategic projects for 2020-2024 that aims to cultivate the appreciation of Maqasid Syariah in management and administration in the Sultanate and instilling good values in upholding the principle with the project targetting government agencies. The programme will be extended to private agencies as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in efforts to meet the objectives through the whole-of-nation approach.
Several examples of the Maqasid Syariah application in services under the MoE were also shared as well its relevance in securing the well-being and social security and nation’s stability.
