DIRECTOR of Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh and Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri yesterday officiated the Happy Harun Truck in their capacity as Co-Chairmen of the Youth Religious Programme under the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA).
The Happy Harun Truck, run by Tarbiyyah Global, is a mobile classroom that aims to enrich children in understanding the Tauhid, inculcate an interest in learn more about Allah the Almighty and strengthening Islamic teachings.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa binti Haji Ash’ari also attended.
Happy Harun founder Dr Hajah Mona Yati binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Mohd Kassim said the project hopes to get 3,300 children to register with the programme, with plans to visit almost 30 religious schools nationwide.
The idea to introduce the Happy Harun mobile classroom was hatched during a programme carried out with Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB), which involved underprivileged children. The programme received good feedback, and soon the organiser and the public suggested for the programme to be conducted beyond the Brunei-Muara District. Seeing the demand for a mobile classroom, Tarbiyyah Global introduced the Happy Harun Truck to help children in learning more about Islamic teachings.
The project uses the play-and-pray teaching method. It uses a creative and innovative approach based on Al-Quran and As-Sunnah. Its content include appreciating the creation of Allah the Almighty, memorising 99 names of Allah the Almighty; science-related activities, short Zikir recitation and exposure to simple Arabic terms.
The mobile classroom will make its way to the Brunei Book Fair 2019 at the Indoor Stadium in Berakas today, as well as other events such as Bandarku Ceria, exhibitions as well as school holiday programmes.
Tarbiyyah Global is a group registered under the Youth Religious Programme of the MoRA. It has contributed greatly to the development of Islamic knowledge in the country.
Last October, it organised activities with Muallaf children during the ‘Ilm Weekend’ held by the As-Syahadah Muallaf Youth under the Youth Religious Programme.
