    Ministry explores collaboration on koi

    Director of Fisheries Department at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) Hajah Wanidawati binti Haji Tamat and the officials from the department visited a Japanese ornamental fish koi (Nishikigoi) breeding site at Seria, Belait District recently.

    Professor (SA) Dr Mohammad Bodrul Munir from the Faculty of Agriculture at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali also joined.

    The aim of the visit was to discuss the water circling system, anti-bacteria system as breeding condition in Brunei, how to create branding of the Japanese original koi as well and plan to educate students on breeding ornamental fish through roadshows.

    The project is a programme of Atami city in Japan under the development of economic collaboration between Atami city and Brunei.

    Other projects such as tourism and Brunei halal promotion will begin in early 2025. – James Kon
