The Ministry of Home Affairs commemorated Nuzul Al-Quran with a religious event at the Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Sungai Akar yesterday.
Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong was the guest of honour.
The ceremony commenced with mass Zohor prayers, followed by the recitation of verses from Al-Quran, before a religious talk on Nuzul Al-Quran.
The minister presented donations to the mosque and 31 orphans from Kampong Sungai Akar.
The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) also held a special religious talk titled ‘Companionship with Al-Quran Throughout the Ages’ at MinDef and RBAF suraus nationwide, including Pulau Baru-Baru Mosque as part of its Ilya Ramadhan and Outreach Programme yesterday.
Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof led the contingent to Belait District, accompanied by Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.
The contingent visited Pekan Seria Mosque for mass Asar prayers and Tedarus Al-Quran, followed by the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Brunei Darussalam and presentation of infaq (donations), which included RBAF Diamond Jubilee Mushaf Al-Quran to the mosque takmir committee.

The contingent also went to Surau Ar-Rahmah, Lumut camp, during which a religious talk by Kampong Sungai Teraban Mosque Affairs Officer Mohd Hilmi bin Yakop was held.
The contingent then went to Kampong Sungai Liang Mosque for mass Isyak prayers, Sunnat Tarawih and Sunnat Witir prayers.
A Tedarus Al-Quran was conducted, before concluding with the presentation of donations, copies of the RBAF Diamond Jubilee Mushaf Al-Quran and a hearse to the mosque takmir committee from the MinDef and RBAF.
Female civilian staff and military personnel also attended a similar event at Pahlawan Hall, Berakas Garrison.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health (MoH) held a Nuzul Al-Quran celebration, which saw 41 orphans comprising children of members of the MoH, receive donations at Al-’Afiah Hall yesterday.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar was the guest of honour.
The ceremony began with mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the minister followed by a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony and mass recitation of Takhtim by MoH officers and staff. The Doa Khatam was read by Ahmad Syuja’iee bin Mudim Haji Metassim.
The ceremony continued with Dikir Marhaban led by Haji Zaman bin Haji Timbang and the presentation of donation to the orphans by the minister.
Haji Md Emmarul bin Haji Azamain read the Doa Selamat and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Brunei Darussalam.
Permanent Secretary at the MoH Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin, Acting Director General of Health and Medical Services Pengiran Dr Haji Mohd Khalifah bin Pengiran Haji Ismail directors as well as officers and staff at the MoH also attended the event.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) marked Nuzul Al-Quran at its premises yesterday.
Present as the guest of honour was Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah.
The event also featured a special lecture by accredited Da’ie from the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) Khairul Mu’az bin Haji Sibodaud.
Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew handed over donations to 32 orphans from the ministry.
Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal) Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, permanent secretaries at the MoFE and Brunei Darussalam Central Bank managing director were also present.
Similarly, the Ministry of Education (MoE) held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony to mark Nuzul Al-Quran at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Mosque yesterday.
Minister of Education Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman was the guest of honour.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by UBD Mosque Imam Muhammad bin Haji Bagol, followed by the recitation of Surah Ad-Dhuha till Surah Al-Masad. The ceremony also saw the reading of Takhtim and Doa Khatam.
UBD Vice-Chancellor Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the MoE Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, heads of departments and officers also attended the event.
The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) also marked Nuzul Al-Quran at its premises yesterday.
Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Dato Seri Setia Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Awang Mohd Yusof attended the ceremony, which also saw the presentation of donations to orphans.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a religious talk entitled ‘Hebatnya Pencinta Al-Quran’ by Assistant Lecturer at Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ajak and the presentation of donations to 29 orphans from the ministry.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) held a Nuzul Al-Quran celebration, Khatam Al-Quran and a presentation of donations to 26 orphans under the ministry at the Youth Development Centre yesterday.
The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.
The ceremony continued with Dikir Marhaban and the recitation of Takhtim as well as recitation of Tahlil.
The event also featured a talk, titled ‘Jadikan Al-Quran sebagai Kekasih’, by MUIB’s Accredited Da’ie Mohammed Khairul Mu’az.
The minister presented donations to 26 orphans from officers and staff of the MCYS.
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Brunei Darussalam as well as ‘COVID-19’ pandemic prayer and Selawat Tafrijiyyah dan Sayyidul Istighfar.
Permanent Secretary (Administration, Finance and Estate) at the MCYS Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Permanent Secretary (Strategy and Policy Management) at the MCYS Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Community and Culture) at the MCYS Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari and Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the MCYS Hajah Fauziah binti Haji Abdul Hamid also attended.
