The Ministry of Health (MoH) and departments under it held a Doa Kesyukuran, Sunnat Hajat prayer and Doa Selamat to mark His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 74th birthday celebration at the MoH Surau yesterday.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar participated in the ceremony.
Permanent Secretary at the MoH Haji Abdul Manap bin Othman; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) Dr Haji Zulaidi bin Haji Abd Latif, heads of departments, officers and staff at the ministry were also present.
The ceremony began with Sunnat Hajat prayers followed by Doa Kesyukuran and Doa Selamat led by Head of Religious Division of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital Ustaz Norasilin bin Haji Puting.
Meanwhile the Ministry of Energy, its department and associated statutory bodies held a Doa Kesyukuran, Asar and Sunnat Hajat prayers ceremony in conjunction with His Majesty’s 74th birthday celebration at the Ash-Shaliheen Mosque yesterday.
Deputy Minister of Energy Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw was the guest of honour.
Permanent Secretary (Energy) at the Ministry of Energy Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Energy and Power) Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra, senior officials from the ministry, the Department of Electrical Services; Safety, Health, Environment and National Authority (SHENA); and Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam also participated.
The ceremony began with a mass Sunnat Hajat prayer and Doa Kesyukuran led by Mosque Affairs Officer of Ash-Shaliheen Mosque Haji Mohammad Izzat Izzuddin bin Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Emran. It was followed with mass Asar prayer led by Assistant Head of Imam of Ash-Shaliheen Mosque Mohammad Syariff Wafiuddin bin Jemain.
The religious gatherings were to express gratitude towards the leadership of His Majesty and pray to Allah the Almighty for the monarch’s longevity and good health.
