Minister of Education Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman yesterday visited two secondary schools in Brunei-Muara District following the second stage of school re-opening as part of the Early Endemic Phase. The minister and his delegation first made a stop at Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School where the group was welcomed by Acting Principal Pengiran Mohd Ariffin bin Pengiran Haji Aliuddin.

Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah toured the school facilities including the area where antigen rapid tests (ART) are carried out every Monday and the self-isolation rooms.

The minister observed Years 7 and 11 students while lending moral support and delivering motivational messages to students on their first day of school.

Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah later visited Sultan Sharif Ali Secondary School where he was greeted by Acting Principal Hajah Noor Zinatul Ashiqin binti Haji Ibrahim. The delegation toured the school’s multipurpose hall that has been refashioned into a COVID-19 testing centre and isolation rooms.

The minister also took a closer look at classes being carried out at ICT and media laboratories and mingled with the students and teachers.
