Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Ir Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar and Legislative Council (LegCo) members yesterday rolled their sleeves up for a tree planting session at the open area near the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SHOAS) Bridge.
The government initiative looks to achieve one of the key policies of the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy (launched on July 25, 2020) of planting as many as 500,000 new trees by 2035.
Following the tree planting event, the LegCo members attended a dialogue with Dato Seri Setia Ir Awang Haji Suhaimi and officials at the SHOAS Bridge Project site office.
