The initiatives by several supermarkets and departmental stores limiting the number of people entering the premises to purchase items is a good move, Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar said.

He said this will ensure social distancing is practised properly and reduces the risk of transmitting COVID-19. It will also help to avoid overcrowding, the minister told a press conference yesterday.

He advised the public to follow instructions enforced by the supermarkets and departmental stores. Shoppers should also be patient and not stand close to each other. This reduces the risk of being infected, the minister said.
