The Embassy of Iran in Brunei Darussalam celebrated the 41st National Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the multipurpose hall of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) last night.
In attendance as representative of the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin and spouse Datin Nurhayana Janis binti Abdullah.
Last night’s reception started with the national anthems of Brunei and Iran followed by a speech from Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Brunei Darussalam Homeira Rigi Zirouki.
“We are working to enhance the relations between the two countries in different areas. During my 11-month presence in Brunei, there have been exchange of visits by four technical and expert delegations from Brunei to Iran and two sports, scientific and economic delegations from Iran to Brunei Darussalam,” said the ambassador.
She underlined that the goal is to enhance relations of the two countries in various scientific and economic fields.
The event continued with a short video and a presentation by Secretary General of Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council (INIC) under Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology of Islamic Republic of Iran Professor Saeed Sarkar.
The ambassador also presented a token of appreciation to the guest of honour.
