The French Bruneian Business Association (FBBA) has impacted the local community through events such as the recent series of high-level business talks highlighting topics linked to national priorities including an analysis of Brunei Darussalam’s economic landscape.
This was stated by guest of honour, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin during an annual get-together organised by the FBBA at the Serambi Suluh Hall of Brunei Arts and Handicraft Training Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan last night. The event was held to celebrate ‘Eiffel in the City of Lights, Paris, 130th Anniversary of Eiffel’.
The talks held throughout 2018 and 2019 also covered social responsibility such as youth unemployment and family enterprise.
“These talks have given important insights into our national agenda and demonstrated the commitment and the close connection of the FBBA and French companies in Brunei Darussalam towards social responsibility,” said the minister.
The minister also highlighted the first Hari Raya celebration organised and sponsored by Total E&P Borneo for the differently abled students in Pusat Bahagia.
“As the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam remains steadfast towards increasing our Ease of Doing Business ranking, we will continue to see FBBA as a valuable partner. As we look forward for relationships to develop further between French and Bruneian businesses, it is our sincere hope that such partnerships will also see a growth in collaboration in Corporate Social Responsibility and other areas of mutual interest that have a direct impact on the needs of our community,” the minister added.
Ambassador of France to Brunei Darussalam Christian Ramage, the Honorary President of FBBA Musa bin Haji Admin, and President of FBBA and General Manager of Total E&P Borneo BV Nicolas Wawresky, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions to Brunei Darussalam, permanent secretary and deputy permanent secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, as well as invited guests were also present.
