MINDANAO will play host for the 11th BIMPNT-EAGA Friendship Games in 2020 after representatives from the Philippines confirmed it during the BIMPNT-EAGA Sports Council Meeting at the Conference Room of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium last night.
It was suggested that the Philippines play the host of the Games during a meeting on July 20 in Brunei Darussalam.
In response, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner Charles Raymond Maxey accepted the invitation and looked forward to welcome the participants to Davao City in two years’ time.
During the meeting, it was also agreed that the chairmanship of Sulawesi will be continued for the next two years.
“This is my second term. This is a huge responsibility and I have been given the trust by my BIMPNT-EAGA colleagues,” said Chairman of BIMPNT-EAGA Sports Council Datok H Jufri Rahman.
The meeting also covered updates on the 10th BIMPNT-EAGA Friendship Games by the Organising Secretariat as well as a briefing on the ceremonies.
The meeting agreed that Makassar to be the host for the Single Event Run next year.
