Military career begins for recruits

A total of 300 male recruits of the 169th intake and 58 female recruits of the 57th intake have concluded their basic military training with a Passing Out Parade ceremony at the Parade Square of Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF), Penanjong Garrison today.

Permanent Secretary (Security and Law), Prime Minister’s Office Hajah Nor Hashimah binti Haji Muhammed Taib, was the guest of honour.

In her speech, the guest of honour stated that the end of the training marks the recruits’ first few steps into their long military career. She further stressed the importance of recruits to be eager and committed to their roles and responsibilities.

She also highlighted it is the new generation that is instrumental in establishing a conducive environment to produce new initiatives for the development of the security of the nation.

Acting Commander of the RBAF Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Saifulrizal bin Abdul Latif and Service Commanders and the Joint Force Commander, senior officers, officers, RBAF personnel as well as parents, guardians and families of the recruits also attended the ceremony.

Hajah Nor Hasimah presented awards to the recruits and instructors who demonstrated outstanding performance in various categories throughout the training.

The award recipients for the 169th Male Recruit were 54675 Recruit (L) Mohammad Danish Shah bin Behrom Shem as the Overall Best Recruit, 54752 Recruit (U) Haffizul Ikhmal bin Mohammad Daud for the Best in Military Skills, 54636 Recruit Mohammad Hafizz bin Talip for Best in Light Weapon Training and 54722 Recruit (U) Mohammad Azimuddin bin Haji Awang Bungsu for the Best in Physical Training. In addition, 19386 Corporal Safwan bin Haji Bahar received the Best Section Commander Award whilst 19546 Sergeant Mohammad Hardini bin Jaludin was awarded the Best Platoon Sergeant Award.

The award recipients for the 57th Female Recruit were 22267 Recruit Nurul Syafiqah binti Yahya as the Overall Best Recruit, 22247 Recruit (L) Dayangku Siti Syifa Wajihah binti Pengiran Norzaini in Best in Military Skills, 22273 Recruit Syasya Ereena Syqira binti Saiful Rizal for Best in Light Weapon Training and 22265 Recruit Inarah Ainul Hayati binti Jasni awarded Best in Physical Training. In addition, 21435 Corporal Siti Nurrizati binti Haji Tasrif was given the Best in Section Commander Award, and 21243 Sergeant Linda binti Serudin was awarded the Best Platoon Sergeant Award.
