Numerous lanterns illuminated Chung Hua Middle School Kuala Belait as it hosted its annual Mid-Autumn Festival celebration.
Last week’s event aimed to honour the traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival, featuring decorative lanterns, including those made by students in an interclass lantern-making competition held in August.
Speaking to the Bulletin, the school’s principal Dr Chong Kui Kian said the celebration fosters joy and unity while deepening the appreciation of cultural heritage through the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The event continued with a lantern procession, where students, teachers and guests paraded around the school with their lanterns.
Other highlights included performances by teachers and students, along with 18 vendors set up by various school departments showcasing traditional food and drinks.
The event concluded with the presentation of prizes to the contest winners; including the Tokong China Society’s lantern-making competition. – Daniel Lim
