The Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department advised the public to take precautionary measures over a forecast of heavy rains and thunderstorms from today until Saturday.
There is risk of flash floods especially at low-lying and flood prone areas as well as near river banks during continuous heavy rain and high tide.
There is also the risk of landslide and falling trees during heavy showers and gusty conditions, said the department.
Brunei Darussalam is currently in the first phase of the Northeast Monsoon, where generally unsettled weather conditions with showers or thunderstorms, heavy at times, are expected especially at night until early morning.
