Over 50 underprivileged families and residents of Kampong Sungai Teraban received korban meat at an event organised by Kampong Sungai Teraban Village Consultative Council on Sunday.
Legislative Council member and Kampong Bukit Sawat Village Head Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann, the guest of honour, distributed meat at Kampong Sungai Teraban Community Hall. Penghulu of Mukim Belait Haji Abdul Afiq bin Zainuddin was also present. – Daniel Lim
Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali
Three buffaloes were sacrificed in a korban ceremony organised by Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali’s Student Affairs Office on Saturday.
UNISSA Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal was the guest of honour at the event at UNISSA’s Sinaut Campus.
The event began with the packaging of the meat which was later distributed among UNISSA members and underprivileged individuals residing in Kampong Sinaut and Kampong Sungai Kelugos.
The ceremony saw a tazkirah delivered by the Faculty of Syariah and Law Dean Professor Dato’ Dr Zulkifly bin Muda.
The talk discussed the history of sacrificial rites and experience of the prophets. – Rokiah Mahmud
Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan
Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) organised an event to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha recently.
KUPU SB Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, the guest of honour, distributed sacrificial meat to 58 students, staff and underprivileged individuals.
Three buffaloes and a goat were slaughtered for the event.
The event was aimed at fostering closer ties among KUPU SB members and promote the act of charity. – Rokiah Mahmud
Institute of Brunei Technical Education in Belait District
Students and instructors from Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Jefri Bolkiah Campus (JBC) in Kuala Belait and Sultan Bolkiah Campus (SBC) in Seria hosted korban ceremonies on July 1.
At the IBTE JBC, the ceremony was organised by the campus’ Islamic Religious Knowledge Unit.
The event began with Takbir Raya and the recitation of Surah Yaasiin. It was followed by cutting up and packaging of the meat from two buffaloes for distribution.
Meanwhile, the event at IBTE SBC saw three buffaloes sacrificed. The meat was distributed among Muslim staff and students.
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat by instructor Mohd Shah Hafizzudin bin Abdul Rahim.
IBTE Satellite Principal Dr Suhaimi bin Haji Abdul Wahab was the guest of honour at both events. – Daniel Lim
