MD HASRIJAM bin Haji Hasan enhanced his prospects of a major silverware this season after strolling to a 3-0 victory over Mezi Shahnom in Group ‘C’ of the Pro X National Snooker Championship 2019 at the Billiards & Snooker Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium last night.
The double Brunei Darussalam National Games (SKBD) gold medallist recorded a 59 in his first frame and a 63 in the second before running away with an unassailable 66-2 lead in the final frame.
Md Hasrijam, who won the six and 15 reds snooker gold in SKBD last year, sets the tone on the third rack with runouts of six, 14 and 12 to put him within touching distance of victory.
His accurate long potting helped him towards acquiring the points and his final execution of the yellow ball gave his opponent no choice but to concede the frame and consequently victory for Md Hasrijam.
Md Hasrijam will be back in action on Friday against the winner of the match between Haji Kamarulzaman bin Haji Pungut and Pengiran Md Faiq Hafizuddin.
A total of 32 players split into four groups competed at the event including a number of the country’s top pool cueists.
